Paige Spiranac’s enthusiasm for her top spot on the Maxim 100 hasn’t waned in the three months since the mega-popular golf influencer’s cover was revealed, as evidenced by the limited-edition Maxim-branded merch collection that just launched on her website (shop here).
The New York Post caught up with the club-swinging siren at the charitable 3rd Annual Celebrity Chefs & Friends Golf and Tennis Tournament in New Jersey, where she gave a gushing account of the day she was tapped as Maxim’s Hot 100 leader.
“It’s so funny, my manager called me and she’s like, ‘You’re never going to believe this, but Maxim wants you to do the cover,’” Spiranac said. “At first, it didn’t quite sink in, and then I called her back and I’m like, ‘Wait, does that mean I’m No. 1, I made it?’”
Spiranac added that she’s still incredulous that she was tapped for a prestigious shoot with famed photographer Gilles Bensimon.
“I just couldn’t believe it. Even up to when we did the photo shoot, when the magazine came out, I’m like, I’m still in disbelief that this actually happened,” she said. “It’s such an honor and I still, to this day, I look at the magazine and I’m like, ‘That’s not me, I can’t believe this happened.’”
Spiranac shared images from her Maxim cover shoot and the cover reveal party during Miami Swim Week, where they quickly became some of her most popular posts of the year. But another recent, golf-adjacent ‘gram has captured the attention of her now-3.6 million followers—up several hundred thousand since her Hot 100 cover reveal.
In August, she recreated the “happy place” of Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore from the eponymous classic sports comedy.
The dreamy pic was used to promote her collaborative accessory capsule with Swag Golf, which is currently sold out. Fortunately, the image will live on forever on Spiranac’s IG.
