Oleg Gennadievich Kuzovkov (born October 22, 1961, Sredneuralsk) – Soviet and Russian animator, director, screenwriter and cameraman. Creator of the animated series “Masha and the Bear”. Studied at the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, then at the Geological Prospecting Institute, from which he graduated in 1987. Since 1988 he began to draw cartoons. He worked in the Pilot studio. In 1998 he moved to Los Angeles and worked at Kinofilm, then at the Animaccord studio, where the animated series Masha and the Bear appeared. According to Kuzovkov, “Masha and the Bear” was inspired by the animated series “Tom and Jerry.” In 1995, he was the director and artist of the American animated film “People: Musical Holiday”, and also worked on 14 other animated films as a cameraman. Now he is a director, screenwriter and producer of the animated series “Masha and the Bear”, director and producer of the animated series “Mashkin’s Horror Stories” and the producer of the animated series “Fairy Tale Machines.” In June 2016, the American magazine Animation Magazine recognized Oleg Kuzovkov as an innovator in world animation for his work on the animated series ” Masha and the Bear”.
